Deep-Water Gas Resource Appraisal

The Challenge

An operator required an independent technical assessment of a complex deep-water block with significant structural and stratigraphic uncertainty. The appraisal needed to meet international reserves certification standards and support a bilateral government energy agreement.

What We Did

Integrated 3D seismic interpretation, petrophysical analysis, and dynamic reservoir modeling across multiple stacked channel and fan systems. Applied probabilistic volumetric estimation to quantify the range of recoverable gas in place. Delivered an independent reserves report compliant with SPE-PRMS.

Siberian Portfolio Production Optimization

The Challenge

A major Russian oil producer needed to rapidly scale production across a large portfolio of West Siberian assets. The engagement required both field-level engineering — well design, artificial lift, workover prioritization — and portfolio-level capital allocation strategy.

What We Did

Deployed production engineering teams across multiple fields simultaneously. Implemented systematic decline analysis, well performance benchmarking, and ESP optimization programs. Redesigned capital allocation to prioritize the highest-returning workovers and infill locations.

Offshore EOR Scheme Design

The Challenge

A mature offshore field in Malaysia was approaching the economic limit of conventional waterflood. The operator required a rigorous evaluation of EOR options — including whether a Water-Alternating-Gas scheme could unlock meaningful incremental recovery at acceptable risk.

What We Did

Constructed a full-field compositional simulation model history-matched to 20+ years of production data. Evaluated five EOR scenarios — WAG, CO₂ miscible, infill drilling, polymer, and waterflood optimization — against a standardized economic framework. Designed and supported implementation of the selected WAG scheme.

Kurdistan Frontier Exploration Program

The Challenge

An independent operator required end-to-end technical support for a multi-block exploration program in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq — from seismic acquisition and interpretation through prospect maturation, well planning, drilling supervision, and post-discovery appraisal.

What We Did

Acquired and interpreted 800 km of 2D seismic. Generated and ranked the prospect inventory. Designed and supervised four exploration wells. Post-discovery, implemented an ESP optimization program to accelerate early production and demonstrate commercial flow rates ahead of development sanction.

Horizontal Well Development Program

The Challenge

An operator in East Texas needed to evaluate whether switching from vertical to horizontal drilling would materially improve recovery economics from a tight gas play — and if so, to design and execute the optimal horizontal well program at scale.

What We Did

Conducted an integrated reservoir and wellbore study to quantify the expected performance uplift from horizontal completions. Designed the lateral placement, completion intervals, and stimulation program. Supervised drilling and completion operations, with ongoing production monitoring and program optimization.

CO₂ EOR and Carbon Sequestration Integration

The Challenge

Multiple operators were separately evaluating CO₂ EOR for incremental recovery and CO₂ sequestration for compliance and credit generation. The opportunity was to design projects that simultaneously maximized oil recovery and qualified for carbon sequestration credits — making the economics work on both dimensions.

What We Did

Conducted CO₂ injectivity studies, site characterization, and compositional simulation across multiple candidate fields. Designed injection schemes optimized for both recovery efficiency and permanent CO₂ storage. Built the regulatory and commercial framework for sequestration credit qualification in each jurisdiction.
